When DWTS’ Alan Bersten Realized He, Emma Slater Could Be More Than Friends

Alan Berston is sharing how he knew it was time to take a big leap. 

The Dancing With the Stars pro revealed the moment he realized he and his costar Emma Slater could become more than friends. 

“It’s one of those things where you just look and you’re like, ‘Why haven’t we?'” Alan exclusively told E! News at the 33rd Annual Race to Erase MS Gala June 5 in a joint interview with Emma. “And then it’s just been so special.”

And Emma—who joked it was her “cha-cha moves” that caught Alan’s eye—chimed in, saying, “We’ve always been really good friends, and now we have a great relationship. It feels really good.”

And while the couple—who recently wrapped up the Dancing With the Stars tour—may not have much downtime due to their busy schedules, they make sure to find special moments.

“We get to travel a lot,” Alan said. “And we try to enjoy the cities and the moments, the dinners and just our little dog Jeff as much as we can. And that’s what really grounds me.”
