Kate Middleton Details How Cancer Battle Impacted Prince William, Their Kids in Rare Comment
Kate Middleton is detailing a cancer diagnosis’ ripple effect.
Specifically, how it impacts the loved ones of the person navigating the illness. Over a year after the Princess of Wales announced her cancer was in remission, she shared insight into how “tough” the experience was for husband Prince William, their kids Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11 and Prince Louis, 8, and the rest of the family.
“I know it’s as hard for the family and loved ones,” Kate said while visiting a cancer patient who was celebrating the end of her own treatment in a video shared by Hello magazine. “I know how hard it was for the children and my parents.”
As she told the cancer patient’s partner, “You go through it with them.”
Indeed, William and Kate have emphasized how much her battle affected their life at home.
“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” Kate said in a social media video after she completed chemotherapy in 2025. “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.”
