Signed for £34million from La Liga side Osasuna in June, Victor Munoz has dragged Liverpool out of the mire in his opening two games for the club.

With his relentless, direct approach, Munoz — part of Spain’s World Cup-winning squad — feels almost like a footballer custom-made for Andoni Iraola.

Against Newcastle, it was his last-gasp burst after coming off the bench that forced Lewis Hall into a clumsy challenge, winning the penalty that Dominik Szoboszlai converted to rescue a point.
