F1 Monaco GP live updates: Latest with Leclerc, Hamilton fastest in FP1, with FP2 to come in Monte Carlo
The crown jewel of the F1 calendar has arrived, as the Monaco Grand Prix weekend gets underway with free practice today.
FP1 was interrupted by two red flags, most significantly after Isack Hadjar crashed into the barriers exiting the swimming pool chicane to leave his Red Bull needing significant repairs ahead of the second practice session later today.
Charles Leclerc celebrated his new Ferrari contract with the fastest time from FP1, with a 1 minute 13.978 seconds, 0.226 ahead of his team-mate Lewis Hamilton. Championship leader Kimi Antonelli was fourth fastest, 0.559 seconds behind.
