Everton reach agreement for Nathan Patterson transfer to Torino

Everton and Torino have reached an agreement for the transfer of Nathan Patterson.

The Scotland international, 24, has been given permission to undergo a medical and to complete the formalities of what will be a permanent move.

He will sign a three-year deal at the Serie A club with Everton retaining a significant sell-on.

Patterson joined the Merseyside club from Rangers in 2022 and has gone on to make 68 appearances. He played in only nine games last season, however, after a muscle injury interrupted the first part of the campaign with Jake O’Brien mostly preferred at right-back by David Moyes later in the year.

He has made one appearance this term, in the EFL Cup victory over Preston, but has not featured in either of the side’s Premier League matches with Merlin Rohl, usually a midfielder, starting all three games at right-back.

Patterson has won 29 caps for Scotland, including making three appearances at this summer’s World Cup as Steve Clarke’s side exited after the group stage.

The move follows The Athletic reporting on Sunday that Everton were on track to complete the signing of Kenny Tete from Fulham.
