Carrot Top Released From Hospital After Suicide Attempt

Carrot Top is no longer receiving treatment at a hospital.

A week after the comedian (real name Scott Thompson) was hospitalized in Las Vegas following a suicide attempt, his representative confirmed to NBC News Sept. 26 that he’s been released from the hospital.

Further details regarding his condition were not provided, per the outlet.

Carrot Top—who has hosted a residency in Las Vegas for more than 20 years—began receiving treatment on Sept. 18, with his rep sharing an update two days later.

“Scott remains hospitalized and under close medical care,” the rep said in a statement to TMZ Sept. 20. “He is now awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve, surrounded by his family and those closest to him.”

According to the rep, at the time, Carrot Top had been joking around with the “medical staff caring for him” and was enjoying reading the supportive messages from fans, along with “stories from people about how his comedy helped them through difficult periods in their own lives.”
