Canada midfielder Ismaël Koné suffered a potentially serious left leg injury during his country’s second World Cup game against Qatar on Thursday.
The incident happened in the 50th minute of the match, leading to play being paused for several minutes while Kone was treated.
The 24-year-old was taken off on a stretcher wearing an oxygen mask, sitting up and giving a thumbs up as he was taken from the field.
Canada was winning the game 3-0.
