Breaking | Trump cancels planned strikes on Iran
US President Donald Trump said on Thursday he had cancelled planned military strikes against Iran after negotiations with Tehran reached what he described as the highest levels of the Iranian leadership and received approval from all parties involved.
“Based on the fact that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been brought to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved, I have, as President of the United States of America, cancelled the scheduled strikes and bombings against Iran this evening,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
The announcement marked the latest twist in a months-long crisis that has seen Washington impose a naval blockade on Iranian oil exports while repeatedly threatening military action against Tehran.
