Wildfire in southern France surpasses the size of Paris, continues to spread

France’s biggest wildfire of the summer is still spreading after surpassing the size of Paris, authorities said on Wednesday, with Prime Minister François Bayrou calling it a “catastrophe on an unprecedented scale”. The blaze has burned over 13,000 hectares and killed one person, injuring several others.
