Why is the Victoria’s Secret website and app down? What to know
NEW YORK — Victoria’s Secret said Wednesday its websites are down due to a “security incident,” preventing users from accessing affiliated sites entirely.
If customers go to the company’s website, or affiliated sites like PINK, they’re met with a black screen and white text explaining why the website is down. The Victoria’s Secret app also showed error messages Wednesday.
“Valued customer, we identified and are taking steps to address a security incident. We have taken down our website and some in store services as a precaution. Our team is working around the clock to fully restore operations,” a message on the website stated Wednesday afternoon. “We appreciate your patience during this process. In the meantime, our Victoria’s Secret and PINK stores remain open and we look forward to serving you.”
Frustrated customers have been commenting on the brand’s Instagram posts since at least Monday asking about the outage and why there hadn’t been any updates about the ongoing issues.
A spokesperson echoed that messaging, saying the company “immediately enacted our response protocols, third-party experts are engaged, and we took down our website and some in-store services as a precaution,” and they are “working to quickly and securely restore operations.”
Stores are still open to customers while the websites are down. It’s unclear when the security incident began, but Bloomberg says some customers have reported being unable to shop online through the lingerie maker since Monday.
Monday was Memorial Day and the company was one of many offering sales that day.
Digital sales, including both website and mobile app orders, accounted for a third of the lingerie maker’s revenue in 2024, or a total of $2 billion, according to Bloomberg.
There is no current estimated time for when the websites will be up again.
