When does the ‘Wicked: For Good’ trailer come out
Fans that attend a special screening of “Wicked: Part One” in theaters will be the first to see the trailer for the highly anticipated sequel film.
WASHINGTON — The wait is over. The official trailer for “Wicked: For Good” premieres tonight, but a special group of fans will be able to see it first.
After becoming one of 2024’s biggest box office hits, “Wicked: Part One” will be returning to the big screen Wednesday for a theatrical re-release.
Directed by Jon M. Chu, “Wicked: Part One” starred Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande as Elphaba and Glinda. The film reimagined the world of Oz, exploring an unlikely friendship between two witches.
The movie earned nearly $1 billion worldwide and received 10 Academy Award nominations, including for Best Picture.
Now, one year later, the story will continue with the highly anticipated follow-up, “Wicked: For Good,” set to premiere in theaters on Nov. 21. Picking up where the first film left off, the sequel will follow the duo’s journey with Elphaba as a newly declared enemy of the state and Glinda stepping into her role as the Good Witch.
The second film is expected to feature musical highlights from the second act of the Broadway show, including fan-favorites like “As Long As You’re Mine” and “For Good.” But fans can also expect something new, as both Grande and Erivo will each have original songs in the movie.
To build anticipation for the upcoming release, Universal Pictures is hosting special screenings happening in over 100 locations across the United States and Canada, where fans can revisit “Wicked: Part One” and receive exclusive in-theater giveaways.
All of the screenings will kick off at the same time, as those in attendance will have a unique first look at the official trailer for “Wicked: For Good.”
