Shakira in Charlotte: Wyclef Jean added as special guest for May 2025 concert

The show is slated for May 13 at Bank of America Stadium and kicks off the singer-songwriter’s North American tour leg.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Shakira fans heading to the Latin singer-songwriter’s concert in Charlotte this summer can expect an extra-special guest.

The Colombian artist announced Thursday that Wyclef Jean, the Haitian rapper and founding member of the Fugees, would join her during the concert at Bank of America Stadium, slated for May 13 as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. Jean and Shakira share a long history together, most notably joining forces for the 2006 hit song “Hips Don’t Lie”.

As of publication, Live Nation’s schedule for the tour shows Jean performing only on the Charlotte stop — no other dates on the North American leg don’t show him appearing, nor do dates on the Latin America leg either. Tickets for previous shows on the Latin American leg have sold out thus far. Tickets for the Charlotte show remain on sale.

Shakira had previously been scheduled to perform at the Spectrum Center on Nov. 23, 2024, as part of the tour, but that tour date was canceled. Live Nation said Shakira rescheduled the entire North American leg of the tour to spring 2025 and upgraded multiple dates to stadiums.

The Charlotte concert officially kicks off the North American leg of Shakira’s tour, which features 22 shows across 18 cities.

After the North American leg is done, Shakira will make one final run for the tour, with concerts in Mexico and Peru.
