In Norway’s far north, members of the Sami minority and environmental activists are trying to block the construction of a copper mine. While Norwegian authorities and the project’s Canadian owners promote it as a contributor to the green transition, critics warn it will pollute a nearby fjord and disrupt reindeer herding.
