Mooresville showcases revitalization at NC Main Street Conference
City leaders at the NC Main Street Conference discussed strategies to revitalize downtown areas.
MOORESVILLE, N.C. โ City leaders, business owners, and economic development professionals gathered in downtown Mooresville this week for the NC Main Street Conference, where the theme “Main Street: Creating Livable, Lovable Communities” sparked discussions on strategies to revitalize downtown areas across the state.
Mooresville, a Main Street Community since 1988, has become a shining example of success. With over $117 million in public and private investments, the town has welcomed 141 new businesses and created nearly 600 new jobs. The townโs ongoing revitalization has inspired others looking to boost their own downtowns.
This yearโs conference drew more than 800 attendees from across North Carolina, with some visitors even traveling from Virginia and South Carolina. The event provided an opportunity for participants to engage in interactive workshops and learn from Mooresvilleโs revitalization efforts.ย
Attendees also toured the townโs ongoing projects and discussed new strategies to bring similar changes to their own communities.
โThese workshops and tours are a great way to showcase what weโve accomplished here in Mooresville,โ Jennifer Herbert said. โWeโre excited to help others find ways to enhance their downtowns and create environments where people want to live and work.โ
The conference offered valuable lessons in community building, fostering collaboration, and sharing best practices. By the end of the event, participants left with fresh ideas and renewed motivation to bring positive changes to their own downtown areas across the state.
