Kelly and Jack Osbourne pay heartfelt tributes to Ozzy

Since the announcement of Ozzy’s death, a wave of tributes have poured in from across the entertainment world.

WASHINGTON — Ozzy Osbourne’s children are the latest to pay tribute to the late rocker, who died of cardiac arrest and coronary artery disease last month.

In a post on Instagram, Ozzy’s daughter Kelly called her father’s death “the hardest moment of my life.”

“I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times and still don’t know if the words will ever feel like enough… but from the bottom of my heart, thank you,” Kelly wrote. “The love, support, and beautiful messages I’ve received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life.”

Kelly, 40, is the youngest daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. She grew up in the limelight, eventually coming into her own as a television personality and actor on the reality show “The Osbournes,” which documented her family from 2002 to 2003.

“Grief is a strange thing,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “It sneaks up on you in waves – I will not be ok for a while -but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind.”

Her younger brother, Jack Osbourne, expressed similar feelings in his own Instagram post. Accompanying the post was a tribute slideshow of images showing Jack as a young boy with his father.

“I haven’t really wanted to post anything since the passing of my father,” Jack wrote. “My heart has hurt too much. I’m gonna keep this short because he certainly hated long rambling speeches. He was so many things to so many people, but I was so lucky and blessed to be apart of a very small group that got to call him ‘Dad.'”

Jack, 39, is the youngest child of the Osbournes. After starring alongside his sister and parents on “The Osbournes,” he pursued a career as a fitness and travel reporter. And in 2016, he and Ozzy travelled the world for a History Channel series called “Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour.”

“My heart is full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude,” he wrote. “I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing. I think this quote best describes my father.”

The death of Ozzy Osbourne at 76 has left a hole in the world of rock. The father of metal died on July 22 surrounded by loved ones, according to a family statement shared to his official Instagram account at the time.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the post read. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

His death came weeks after his final live performance, where he reunited with his Black Sabbath bandmates. The concert marked the end of Osbourne’s touring career after a 2020 Parkinson’s diagnosis and a spinal surgery forced him to stop performing in 2023.

Osbourne’s hometown of Birmingham, UK, hosted a public funeral procession July 30, where thousands of Black Sabbath fans paid their respects to the band’s frontman as his hearse made its way through the city center followed by his tearful wife and children.

Since the announcement, a wave of tributes has poured in from across the entertainment world. Black Sabbath posted, “Ozzy Forever.” Elton John remembered him as “a dear friend and a huge trailblazer,” calling him one of the funniest people he’d ever met. Actor Jason Momoa, who hosted Ozzy’s final performance earlier this month, also paid tribute, writing, “Love you @ozzyosbourne. So grateful. RIP.”
