Global leaders extend plastic pollution treaty talks with endgame still unclear

High level negotiations between 185 countries over reaching a global agreement to combat plastic pollution were prolonged into Friday, as rival blocs continue to clash over prioritizing a phase out of the material or bettering waste management systems.
