The grocery store said to mark the occasion, the first 100 customers in line will receive a gift card up to a $200 value as well as a reusable shopping bag.

The store will be open each day from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and offers services like Food Lion To Go for grocery pickup and home delivery, as well as self-checkout lanes. Customers can also enjoy a walk-in garden cooler for produce, fresh sushi, and a self-service wing with a hot bar.

Store manager Eric Bell, who said he’s been working in Iredell County for nearly 25 years, expressed his excitement about the new store.

“Our customers count on us to help nourish their families,” Bell said. “My team and I are excited to bring our neighbors an expanded assortment of quality, fresh products while providing a convenient place where shopping is easy and affordable.”

Food Lion said the Troutman store will feature a selection of regional items sourced from growers and manufacturers based in the area.

In addition to its shopping features, the store is making strides in sustainability with energy-efficient LED lighting and refrigerated cases with doors to reduce environmental impact. Food Lion has also contributed $2,500 to FeedNC in Mooresville, which it says is the equivalent to 25,000 meals, as part of its Food Lion Feeds initiative to combat food insecurity.
