Clock manufacturer Howard Miller to close facilities in High Point and Lexington

HIGH POINT, N.C. — After revealing its plans to cease operations last month, clock manufacturer Howard Miller has submitted notices to the state announcing the planned closure of facilities in High Point and Lexington.

According to a WARN Notice filed by the company, it plans to close both facilities on November 2. The move will affect 42 employees, 39 of whom worked at the High Point facility on Jarrell Street.

In July, Howard Miller announced it was shutting down its business. Operations are expected to cease by the end of 2025, and the company’s remaining inventory will be sold off early next year.

The Howard Miller Clock Company was founded in 1926 and made a name for itself creating impressive clocks and other interior design products. During World War II, Howard Miller even produced anti-aircraft gun covers for planes that were built by the Ford Motor Company.
