Breaking | Trump announces US attack on Iran nuclear sites
US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that the US military carried out an aerial attack on three Iranian nuclear sites, following days of appeals by Israel for the American military to join its attacks on the Islamic republic.
“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan,” the US leader announced.
“All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”
Israel had been urging the Pentagon to use its 30,000-pound [13,608kg] GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator bombs – commonly known as “bunker busters” – to disrupt nuclear enrichment facilities built at Fordow deep within an Iranian mountain.
It was not immediately clear if those weapons were used.
