Beyoncé’s daughters Blue Ivy, Rumi join singer on stage during Cowboy Carter tour
Beyoncé’s setlist featured more than 30 songs, including mashups and remixes, which spanned from “Cowboy Carter” to “I Am…Sasha Fierce.”
WASHINGTON — Beyoncé kicked off night one of her Cowboy Carter Tour in Los Angeles Monday, but she didn’t do it alone.
The Grammy-winning singer was joined by daughters Blue Ivy Carter, 13, and Rumi Carter, 7, onstage at SoFi Stadium during her nearly three-hour long concert. Beyoncé sang more than 30 songs, including mashups and remixes, which spanned from “Cowboy Carter” to “I Am…Sasha Fierce.”
Blue Ivy joined her mother onstage multiple times throughout the show, even stealing the spotlight by dancing the original choreography to Beyonce’s 2006 hit “Déjà Vu. This isn’t the first time the 13-year-old shared the stage with her mother, as she was a part of Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in 2023.
Blue wasn’t the only Carter girl to join Beyoncé on stage.
The singer’s 7-year-old daughter Rumi made her debut on the big stage in a surprise appearance during “PROTECTOR,” a song off of “Cowboy Carter.” Videos shared online showed as Rumi hugged Beyoncé, who was sitting on a set of stairs surrounded by backup dancers and Blue Ivy.
“Born to be your protector,” Beyoncé sang as she took Rumi’s hand and walked down the stage. Even though I know someday you’re gonna shine on your own, I will be your projector.”
Rumi is featured on the song, opening the lyrics with “Mom, can I hear the lullaby, please?”
The mother-daughter trio shared smiles and hugs before Blue Ivy whisked Rumi away from the stage.
The show included several big props including robot bartenders, a mechanical bull, flying horseshoe and even a soaring red car parading the singer around the stadium. Beyoncé closed out the show with an American flag gown as she sang “AMEN” from her latest album Cowboy Carter.
Monday kicked off the first of a five-night tour stop in Los Angeles before the global superstar jets to Chicago for a three-show run on May 15. The Los Angeles show was loaded with celebrities, including Sheryl Lee Ralph, Oprah and Gayle King.
“Cowboy Carter” is the singer’s eighth solo album and is a follow-up to her 2022 “Renaissance album. Beyonce went on to win album of the year at the 2025 Grammy Awards earlier this year, securing her first win in the category. The album blends genres like country, rock and R&B while featuring collaborations with legends like Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson.
