Avelo Airlines adds 3 new routes at Concord, NC airport
Avelo Airlines is adding three major routes to its Concord offerings, including nonstop service to Long Island.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Avelo Airlines announced Tuesday that it will expand its service at Concord-Padgett Regional Airport, offering three new routes beginning this summer.
Avelo’s new routes feature service to Detroit, Michigan, Washington, D.C., and Long Island, New York. Avelo is also the only airline offering nonstop service to these airports from Concord. The budget airline says one-way fares start at $39.
“We continue to inspire travel by growing our service in Concord/Charlotte with these three new routes, offering our customers even more choices,” CEO Andrew Levy said. “We are making it more convenient and affordable for our Queen City Customers to enjoy 11 popular vacation destinations.”
New Avelo Airlines routes
- Detroit via Detroit Metro Airport: Begins June, 13, with twice-weekly service on Mondays and Fridays
- Washington, D.C. via Dulles Airport: Begins May 23 with twice-weekly service on Mondays and Fridays
- New York via Long Island MacArthur Airport: Begins May 22, with twice-weekly service on Thursdays and Sundays
With eleven exciting destinations to choose from, residents and businesses have more options for affordable and convenient air travel direct from their hometown to communities up and down the East Coast from New England to Florida and now to the Midwest too, thanks to Avelo,” Mayor Bill Dusch said.
The announcement comes less than a week after Avelo launched its new air base in Concord. Originally announced in December, the new base will allow Avelo to create dozens of new jobs in Concord. It also means that some flight crews and aircraft will be based in Cabarrus County.
The Concord expansion will introduce new routes, including twice-weekly flights to Daytona Beach, Florida, and Nashville, Tennessee, starting in April. Avelo has also added service to Lakeland, Florida, since launching in Concord.
Concord–Padgett Regional Airport offers passengers an alternative to the larger Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The airport in Concord offers commercial passenger service through Allegiant and Avelo airlines.
