Anne Burrell’s final appearance on ‘Worst Cooks in America’ will air in July



The Food Network also announced that it will air a special programming tribute for Burrell on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON — Anne Burrell’s final appearance on “Worst Cooks in America” will air in late July, the Food Network announced. 

The network’s new season of the cooking show will begin to air on July 28. Burrell will be joined by the show’s newest mentor Chef Gabe Bertaccini. The new season will see Burrell and Bertaccini as they “attempt to turn a bunch of culinary train wrecks into kitchen stars.”

The new episodes of the cooking show will air on the Food Network at 9 p.m. ET and stream on HBO Max the following day. 

The Food Network also announced that it will air a special programming tribute for Burrell on Wednesday. The programming block will feature ” a curated selection of encore episodes featuring Anne will highlight her extraordinary talent as a chef, competitor and teacher.”

“Anne Burrell was a one-of-a-kind talent whose loss is being deeply felt by family, friends and fans,” Betsey Ayala, Head of Content, Food, Warner Bros. Discovery said in a statement. “With these special programming events, we hope to honor Anne and celebrate her impact on Food Network and beyond, and to offer fans a way to remember her passion and culinary prowess that ran through everything she did.”

Anne Burrell cause of death investigation

The Food Network star died on June 17 after officials found her “unconscious and unresponsive” in her Brooklyn home. A cause of death for the 55-year-old spiky-haired celebrity chef is not yet known.

According to People, Burrell may have suffered cardiac arrest. The outlet, which obtained a 911 call report from the New York Fire Department, said a person called at 7:50 a.m. concerned that Burrell had suffered cardiac arrest. 

Burrell’s trademark platinum spiky hair and boisterous laugh made her one of the network’s most recognizable personalities. She was a frequent judge on the network’s many popular competition shows, such as “Chopped.”
