Major sushi distributor moves headquarters to South Carolina

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — One of the nation’s largest sushi distributors has announced it is moving its corporate headquarters and primary distribution operations to South Carolina. Hissho Sushi is investing $5 million and creating 146 new jobs at its new location at 3621 Lazy Hawk Rd., in Rock Hill.

The company was founded in 1998 by husband-and-wife team Philip and Kristina Maung, and today partners with grocery, university and corporate campus foodservice entities to deliver fresh, premium sushi and Asian-inspired products to over 2,500 locations nationwide. You can find Hissho Sushi under the Hissho Sushi, Sushi with Gusto, and Oumi Sushi brands in stores such as Lowes Foods and Fresh Market.

In addition to being the company’s headquarters and distribution site, the Rock Hill location will also serve as a franchisee training center.
