Nottingham Forest agree £22m plus add-ons deal to sign Crystal Palace’s Daniel Munoz
Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal to sign wing-back Daniel Munoz from Crystal Palace.
The Athletic reported on Thursday that Forest had made an offer worth up to £22million ($29.7m) for Munoz, which was being considered by Palace. The proposal comprised a £20m ($27m) initial fee with a further £2m in add-ons.
However, the two clubs have now agreed on a deal worth £22m ($29.7m) plus add-ons. Munoz, 30, has been granted permission to undergo a medical before completing the transfer. The Colombia international is set to sign a three-year deal with the option of a further 12-month extension.
Should the transfer be completed, it will see Munoz reunite with Forest head coach Oliver Glasner. The Austrian arrived at Palace a month after Munoz in February 2024, with the Colombia international going on to thrive in Glasner’s three-at-the-back system, operating as right-sided wing-back.
Munoz was an unused substitute in Palace’s 4-1 defeat to Manchester City at Selhurst Park on Friday.
In addition to Munoz’s potential arrival at the City Ground, Forest intend to make at least one more addition before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
Speaking after his side’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Saturday, Glasner said: “Let’s see (if Forest make more additions). It could be more. I am very confident that we will find and add the right players, the right profile and the right characters.”
The wing-back signed a new Crystal Palace contract in April 2025 and has two years remaining on his current terms. He recorded five goals and four assists in all competitions last season, featuring 12 Conference League games as Palace lifted the trophy to claim European silverware for the first time.
Munoz joined Palace from Genk for €8.1m (£6.9m) and has made 109 appearances for the club.
Palace have already reinforced in Munoz’s position with the arrival of Anan Khalaili from Belgian club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in a £21m ($28.4m) deal.
Forest had been interested in Khalaili and have held talks over Celta Vigo’s Javi Rueda, but have now moved for Munoz late in the window.
Munoz is set to become Forest’s sixth signing of the summer after the arrivals of Liam Delap, Ousmane Diomande, Gustavo Sa, Xaver Schlager and Steven Benda.
