Braves’ Ronald Acuña Jr. (left hamstring tightness) exits early in road opener

CHICAGO — Ronald Acuña Jr. exited the Atlanta Braves’ series opener in the fourth inning against the Chicago White Sox with left hamstring tightness, the club announced Tuesday.
The Braves outfielder was limping as he ran down the first-base line on a groundball. He was replaced by Eli White.

It is the same hamstring Acuña injured earlier this season. That injury required a stint on the injured list.
Entering Tuesday, Acuña was hitting .254 with seven home runs and a .798 OPS over 52 games.
Should Acuña require another stay on the IL, he will join a group that includes catchers Drake Baldwin and Sean Murphy, centerfielder Michael Harris II and a slew of pitchers. At 45-21 before Tuesday’s contest, the Braves have MLB’s best record.
