Amazon expands in Greensboro with new 85-acre land purchase for development
Amazon confirmed it is expanding operations in Greensboro, North Carolina.
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Amazon is expanding in Greensboro after purchasing 85 acres of land off Ritters Lake Road.
The company confirmed the expansion to WFMY News 2 on Thursday and said it plans to work with local officials in the coming months to finalize the details.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our operations in Greensboro, North Carolina. Over the coming months, Amazon plans to collaborate closely with local officials to finalize the details of this investment. As more information becomes available, we look forward to sharing updates with the community,” an Amazon public relations specialist said.
Amazon has not announced what type of facility it will develop or how many jobs it will create. However, the purchase reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its logistics and distribution network in North Carolina.
Amazon already operates a fulfillment center in Kernersville and a delivery station in Greensboro. Its continued expansion in the Triad could bring more jobs and boost the region’s role as a key hub for logistics and e-commerce.
WFMY News 2 will provide updates as Amazon releases more details.
