Brad Paisley performing Thursday in Charlotte, North Carolina
The event celebrates Paul Schadt’s retirement after a 30-year career with 96.9 The Kat.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Country music fans in Charlotte are in for a treat Thursday night as Brad Paisley is set to perform at the Paul Schadt Icon Party, hosted by iHeartRadio.
The event celebrates Schadt’s retirement after a 30-year career with 96.9 The Kat.
The beloved co-host of 96.9 The Kat’s “Paul Schadt & Sarah Lee Morning Show” announced his retirement back in October, saying his time as co-host made stepping back difficult.
“This has been the toughest decision of my life by far because I love what I do,” Schadt said at the time. “I’m a very lucky guy. I’ve had the most remarkable ‘job’ anyone could ever ask for.”
He is already in the Country Radio Hall of Fame, and has earned multiple awards and nominations over his decades-long career, including from the Academy of Country Music (ACM) and Country Music Association (CMA). Schadt will transition to a station ambassador role, which will include some on-air and on-site appearances.
Paisley’s performance at the celebration will take place at Coyote Joe’s on Wilkinson Boulevard, starting at 7:30 p.m. As of 6:30 a.m. Thursday, general admission tickets are still available for the event. Prices start at $44.53 and can be purchased on Coyote Joe’s website.
