Fire-scorched Los Angeles gets a reprieve as winds drop

Hurricane-force winds fanning wildfires that have scorched tens of thousands of acres in Los Angeles dwindled on Wednesday, bringing a much-needed break to the devastated city. The deadly blazes, which flared up more than a week ago, have killed dozens and displaced thousands.
