Taylor Swift’s new album: When will it be released?

Taylor Swift unveiled “The Life of a Showgirl,” her 12th album, in a clip from the New Heights podcast hosted by Travis and Jason Kelce.

WASHINGTON — Taylor Swift is ushering in her new era with an appearance on the New Heights podcast, hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason.

Swift is slated to reveal details about her upcoming album “The Life of a Showgirl” on the podcast episode that will debut Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET on YouTube and podcast providers. It is the popstar’s first time on the podcast.

On Wednesday morning, the podcast shared a nearly two-minute video clip in which Jason Kelce gave Swift an extended, enthusiastic introduction.

“As we all know, you know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast. I think we all know that if there’s one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens, it’s more of me,” Swift joked.

Swift’s website featured a countdown to the podcast, showing a closed door along with three lock symbols.

Earlier this week, the global superstar surprised fans with the announcement of her 12th studio album in a short clip teasing her appearance.

Rumors quickly swelled Monday that news was coming after cryptic social media posts from her marketing team that heavily featured the color orange, which fans had long speculated was associated with the rumored newest album. A countdown with an orange glitter background was added to her website, counting down the seconds to 12:12 a.m. on August 12.

Swift’s last studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” was released in April 2024 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The double album broke multiple streaming records and spent 15 weeks atop the chart.

Taylor Swift “The Life of a Showgirl” release date

Swift has kept much of the details, including the release date, of the new album under wraps.

On Tuesday, fans were able to pre-order the album, which has been teased with orange and mint-green colors, on Swift’s website.  A special limited vinyl edition of the album will be released in “portofino orange glitter,” according to a pre-order page.

While an initial release date was not announced, the website said the vinyl, CD and cassette pre-orders will ship before Oct. 13. Many fans speculated that this could be a possible release date but the website later added a disclaimer that the date was just a placeholder.

“*THIS IS NOT THE RELEASE DATE, OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED,” the website disclaimer reads.
