Alec Baldwin’s Wife Hilaria Baldwin Details Parenting Roles to 7 Kids

Hilaria Baldwin is sharing an inside look at her and Alec Baldwin’s parenting styles.

The Dancing With the Stars alum explained how she and her husband navigate life with their seven kids—Carmen, 12, Rafael, 11, Leonardo, 9, Romeo, 8, Eduardo, 5, Maria Lucia, 5, and Ilaria, 3,—and why their differing roles has led to her being the more dominant figure.

“Alec and I are both extremely fiery,” Hilaria shared on the July 29 episode of the Whine Down with Jana Kramer podcast. “I believe—and he would say this [too]—I’m the alpha parent. There’s certain things that he knows he has to ask my permission for with them.”

“It’s like, ‘Oh, can they have this whatever,’” Hilaria continued. “And I’m like, ‘No. They cannot have this whatever.’ [Or] ‘Can they go?’ ‘No. They cannot.’”

Yet, the yoga instructor noted that Alec—also dad to daughter Ireland, 30, with ex-wife Kim Basinger—has responsibilities of his own, such as their “social schedule.” 

As Hilaria emphasized, “We all have hats that we wear.”
